SUMMERTIME SADNESS

I saw this editorial few days ago on C♥heads. It was shot by argentinean photographer Evelyn Sol and styled by Nat Kosinski with beautiful model Julieta Miquelarena from Rebel Management. This story is inspired in artist Lana del Rey and it captures perfectly her style and the whole atmosphere she evokes with her music.

CRAVING FOR: M2MALLETIER

Melissa Losada and Marcela Velez, two colombian girls graduated from Parsons Design of Design in New York are the minds behind M2Malletier. They redifine the concept of luxury handbags with only one detail: the handgrip.
This is their very first collection and was already claimed in last MBFW. It is inspired in medieval medical instruments, spanish architecture, more preciselly, Ricardo Bofill, patron of Arts Marie-Laure de Noailles and interior designer Jean Michel Frank.

Minimalism and functionality. This is for me, with no doubt, sophistication its pure expression.

INSPIRING SUNDAY MUSIC: INDESTRUCTIBLE

First of all, sorry about the neglect these days... i was at my parent's and that means doing pretty much nothing.
In this steamy vdeo, swedish singer Robyn wears an outfit made of 1.2Km (yes, KM) of transparent pipes hold together with fishing thread where 40lts of glicerol was bombed. Awesome, huh?
I've been with this song stuck on my head the whole week. I love Robyn, she has those kind of girly songs to sing and dance all night long in a club with your friends. This particular one makes me wanna sing my heart out in the chorus :)

Happy Sunday!

INSPIRING SUNDAY MUSIC: IRON

Yoann Lemoine is a french music video director, some of his work includes Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and Lana del Rey's "Born to Die" and "Blue Jeans", but he's also a musician going by the name Woodkid. I am obsessed with his music and his voice!
He only has his debut EP named IRON, but on March 18th he will be releasing his first album "The Golden Age". This video is absolute art and you can also watch model Agyness Deyn performing.

PS.: This song was also used in Dior Homme Fall '13 runway "A Soldier On My Own"
PS2.: You should really listen to "Brooklyn" song.

TRENDS TO LEAVE BEHIND IN 2013

This past 2012 we enjoyed some beautiful trends that luckily we are keeping this current year, but there were others that were really painful to watch. Here is my top 5 with no particular order:

1.HEEL-LESS SHOES
Honestly... how the hell u manage to...? I thought the beauty of  sky-high heels were, uhm... the heels!

2.MEGGINS
W-T-F?

3. CROSSES AND TRIANGLES
I think it's about time to knock it off with these... seriously.
4. FLATFORMS
JUST NO.

5. ULTRA SHARP SPIKES
Don't get me wrong, I really like studs and spikes, I have really enjoyed this trend but when it comes to ultra sharp I feel like my eyes are in jeopardy.

CONSTANZA OQUENDO CARACAS

Continuing on my quest rediscovering my home city I found this great designer, Constanza Oquendo
Her high-end style gives an elegant and clasic touch to her pieces evoking the golden age of the city, Caracas.
Take a look on her capsule collection named Plancton. I completely fell in the golden Skirt+Jacket outfit and those flowy purple pants!

INSPIRING SUNDAY MUSIC: ALPINE

Since I didn't write anything in the past days im gonna make it up to you with this post.
This band was one of my favorite in past 2012, their music was playing in my head pretty much all year long.
Have you ever heard of them? They are from Melbourne, Australia and features duet vocals Phoebe and Lou, with these four guys Christhian (guitar), Ryan (bass), Phil (drums) and Tim (keys).
Alpine first appeared on scene in 2009, released their debut EP "Zurich" in 2010 and their debut album named "A is for Alpine" in 2012 and I honestly can get enough of it. It is sexy, sophisticated music and at the same time it can get very sweet. LOVE IT.
